What is Cogneris

Cogneris runs document-heavy processes from start to finish: it collects documents and data from your customers, checks them with AI and, when needed, with a person on your team, gets the result signed, and files the whole case in one place. An insurance claim, a bank account opening, a mortgage application or a periodic KYC refresh are all the same shape: a request goes out, documents come back, rules and people decide, and the outcome is signed and kept.

Bank CAN on Cogneris: Mortgage documents to signed declaration in minutes Watch on YouTube

The video follows a mortgage application at a bank, from the documents the customer sends to the signed declaration.

Your company has its own space in Cogneris — its tenant — in one region, the United States or Europe. Everything your company configures and every document it receives stays in that tenant.

How a case moves through Cogneris

Take an insurance claim. Not every company uses every step; each one is optional except the first two.

  1. Ask. Someone on your team sends the customer an access link by e-mail, SMS or WhatsApp. The link opens a form your company designed.
  2. Collect. The customer opens the link on their phone, fills in the form and sends the documents — photos, PDFs, a selfie.
  3. File. The submission is filed in the Document Center as a process, with its own folder.
  4. Check. If the form is connected to a workflow, the workflow runs: it identifies each document, extracts its data, compares fields across documents and with what the customer typed, compares the selfie with the identity document, and can ask your own systems through their API.
  5. Decide. Clear cases move on by themselves. Anything a rule or the AI is not sure about waits for a person in a review queue. A reviewer can approve, reject, or return the request to the customer to fix only what is wrong.
  6. Sign. The workflow can generate a document from a Word template and send it for signature.
  7. Deliver. The signed document is filed with the rest of the case, and the result can be sent to your own system automatically.

You can follow each case while it runs: see Track a document's state and routing.
