KYB
This chapter was written from the product's source code and has not yet been checked by a person on a running Cogneris. If what you see on screen differs, the screen is right — please tell your Cogneris contact so the chapter can be corrected.
Legacy. The KYB phase validated a company's VAT number against the EU VIES service. It was removed and replaced by the VIES check (KYB) connector, a pre-configured REST integration. This page explains what you see on a workflow that still has a KYB node and how to convert it.

When to use it
Do not add it: the palette no longer offers it. For a new VIES check, add the VIES connector from Pre-configured — see REST integration and Connect your systems.
You meet a KYB node only on a workflow created before the change. Such a workflow:
- cannot be published until it is converted;
- stops at the KYB node in any process that reaches it.
What happens in a run
The phase no longer checks anything. A process of a version published before the change that reaches a KYB node fails at that node, without calling VIES and without retrying, with this error:
The 'kyb' node was removed. Convert the workflow with the kyb -> rest_call converter (POST /workflow/admin/migrations/kyb-to-rest-call, VIES preset) and start the case again. (followed by the same text in Portuguese)
Processes of a converted workflow run the VIES connector instead. The review screen shows the VIES answer the same way for both, and old runs of the KYB node keep showing theirs.
Configuration
Selecting a KYB node opens Phase Configuration with Description and the legacy banner, and nothing else:

The KYB phase was removed and replaced by the “VIES check (KYB)” connector. Converting turns this workflow's KYB nodes into that connector with the same settings. Until then, this workflow cannot be published and its processes stop at this node.

The old settings of the node are not editable. The conversion carries them over to the connector:

Buttons and actions
The conversion acts on the saved workflow, converts every KYB node of it, and is available only to a Cogneris platform administrator.

What the conversion does, as the summary says it:

Warnings that do not block the conversion:
- No default country was set; PT is assumed.
- Only one requester field was set, so the requester is ignored (as the KYB phase did).
- If VIES rejects the requester, the process now fails instead of retrying without it.
- The field was not seen in recent processes; check the source.
- The field appeared both in the form and in the process data; the form is used, as before.
